Privacy Policy
Last updated: 13 July 2026
This policy explains what data EquityFolio collects, why, and the rights you have over it. EquityFolio is operated from the European Union, so the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies.
Data we collect
- Account email - if you sign in, we store the email address you use for passwordless (magic-link) login, so we can authenticate you and send the sign-in links and any alerts you subscribe to.
- Your content - portfolios, watchlists, saved screens, valuation models, and alert subscriptions you create while signed in.
- Analytics - we run privacy-first, cookieless analytics on our own servers. We record page views, the referring site, a coarse device/browser string, and any campaign (UTM) tag on the link you arrived through. We do not store your IP address, we do not set advertising or cross-site cookies, and we do not use third-party ad trackers. A random session identifier is kept in your browser's local storage only, to avoid double-counting a visit; it contains no personal information.
How we use it
- To provide the service - authenticate you, store your portfolios and preferences, and send alerts you opt into.
- To understand aggregate traffic and which content and channels are useful, so we can improve the site.
- To keep the service secure and to comply with our legal obligations.
Our legal bases are performance of a contract (providing your account), your consent (alerts you subscribe to), and our legitimate interest in running and improving a secure service (aggregate, non-identifying analytics).
Sharing and processors
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the infrastructure and email providers that operate the service on our behalf (hosting and transactional email delivery), and where required by law. Analytics are self-hosted and are not shared with third parties.
Retention
Account data is kept for as long as you have an account; delete your account and we remove it. Analytics records are retained only for a short rolling window and then purged.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, object to or restrict certain processing, and receive a copy of your data. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority. To exercise any right, contact us at team@electricity.studio.
Changes
We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected in the "last updated" date above.
